Behavior Services Manager: Chileda Learning Center - Menasha, WI

Chileda's mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive and behavior challenges. Chileda's goal is to help students increase their appropriate social behaviors and develop independent living skills through an enriched learning environment and individualized behavior programming. We are now accepting applications for a Behavior Services Manager for the Chileda Learning Center that will be opening in late summer/early fall in Menasha, WI.

Anticipated Position Start Date: July 2024

Position Summary:

The Behavior Services Manager oversees the behavior programming of the Menasha Learning Center and will work collaboratively with the Principal and Education Manager to provide individualized behavioral and educational programming to support improved quality of lives for students. The Behavior Services Manager directly supervises the Educational Behavior Specialists. This role is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the behavior assessment, programming, and reporting process are carried out in a positive, professional manner.

Education & Experience:
•A master's degree in an area of behavioral science (psychology, sociology, education, etc.) is required.
•A minimum of two years of work experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities,
autism spectrum disorder, and attachment challenges is preferred.
•BCBA certification is required within two years of hire.

General Hours: Generally, 8 am to 4 pm, Monday - Friday. Additional hours of work may
be required. This is an exempt, benefited position with a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.

Job Duties:
•Develop, coordinate, oversee, and ensure the completion of functional behavior assessments
and/or functional analysis of behaviors for individuals receiving services. Complete functional
behavior assessments for new students and students in their neighborhood educational
environment.
•Directly supervise Educational Behavior Specialists, providing mentorship and supervision.
•Monitor the accuracy of behavior data trackers and data entry. Aggregate and monitor building-wide
behavioral data and report on aggregated data at least quarterly.
•Provide technical assistance to all core teams in developing appropriate proactive, skill-based,
and least restrictive behavioral approaches.
•Utilize team suggestions and input, results of completed functional behavior assessments, data
and record review, and direct observation in identifying alternative behaviors to be taught and to
provide behavior services in a non-aversive, age-appropriate, pro-active, and normalized
fashion.
•Together with the individual's team, advocate for and actively participate in the design and
implementation of age-appropriate, positive programming in enriched environments.
•Work cooperatively with the individual's team to ensure that behavior services are provided in
the least restrictive manner possible and to ensure that restrictive techniques are only utilized as
a last resort. Ensure the need for restrictive measures is documented in behavioral programs.
Monitor the use of restrictive measures, identify patterns, and work with the team to develop
interventions to reduce the need for restrictive measures.
•Assist in crisis intervention, as well as offering staff guidance and support in crisis situations
with emphasis on non-aversive interventions to deescalated behavioral situations.
•Oversee the review and update of individual behavioral approaches on a quarterly basis or more
frequently as necessary. Ensure all behavior approaches are reviewed for appropriateness and
updated at least annually.
•Develop the initial behavior plan for new students based on information obtained from referral
records and interviews during pre-enrollment meetings.
•In collaboration with the Education Manager, ensure that all staff are certified in up-to-date
crisis intervention procedures; staff re-certification on these procedures will occur annually.
